Much of the work that we do in the field of digital education centers around eventedness but it is often not thought of this way. We have a tendency to focus on building resources or producing educational products. However, there is no education without an event of some kind – I would argue that even a class session is an “event”.
I have had the opportunity to do some small to mid-sized conference planning over recent years including:
The Transformative Teaching and Technology (T3) conference is a small local conference held on the campus of St. Norbert College every May. The event is an opportunity to explore transformative teaching and technology. I was the lead organizer for the event in 2018
The following year in 2019 we changed the event’s focus and named it D3 – Domains, Data, and Democracy. I gave a welcome address at the conference and sat on the planning committee remotely.
